No. 92-463, 5 U.S.C., App.), by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The Community will advise the Secretary and recommend specific actions to achieve a common interoperability framework for health information technology (IT) and serve as a forum for participation from a broad range of stakeholders to provide input on achieving interoperability of health IT. The Community is made up of 17 voting members, including the Chair, and members have been appointed by the Secretary. Recognized experts in the field of Lifestyle Medicine, nutrition, wellness coaching and health promotion will facilitate this highly interactive and patient-centered activity. This one-day course will consist of lectures that will define and establish the need for incorporating lifestyle medicine into physicians' practices. Lectures will focus on the background and relevance of lifestyle medicine, the exercise prescription, physician health, wellness coaching, and physician counseling on weight management, smoking cessation, nutrition, physical activity/exercise, and stress management. Participants will also benefit from question and answer sessions, self-appraisal of personal lifestyle choices, and surveys to demonstrate changes in knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors in clinical practice. Learning Objectives • Educate physicians in the essential elements of Lifestyle Medicine including exercise, nutrition, weight management, smoking cessation, and stress management to support coaching of their patients toward taking responsibility and making improved lifestyle choices. • Encourage and facilitate improvement in physician health choices to enable physicians to serve as role models for patient lifestyle change.
